What is wellbeing and why does it matter?

Wellbeing is a measure of your quality of life and the things that are important to you. Better quality of life has been shown to result in improved physical and mental health. Wellbeing includes such things as feeling safe, feeling connected to your community and being able to participate fully in the activities you love. Your access to quality food and shelter, public transportation, the Internet, parks and the natural environment, clean water and healthcare impact your wellbeing.

Your community has a role to play in your wellbeing by providing services. You can help determine priorities by participating in a community-wide wellbeing survey. To help with future planning and to improve wellbeing in our community, it is important to know where help is needed most. Have one person from your household 16 years of age or older take the survey.

Visit the Waterloo Region Survey page at www.CIW.ca/WaterlooRegionSurvey. The wellbeing survey is voluntary and anonymous.

Please consider promoting the survey to your networks, clients, co-workers, family and friends. There are many prizes that participants can win!  You can help improve wellbeing in our communities by taking the survey today at www.CIW.ca/WaterlooRegionSurvey.

The Waterloo Region Survey is funded by the Waterloo Region LHIN, Regional and local governments and community agencies that care about your wellbeing.

Potential additional content:

Completing the wellbeing survey allow all of us to better understand how residents perceive their quality of life within the region. The data collected will help governments and local service providers better plan by allocating resources where they are needed most. Without your input, the job of planning for the future is that much harder. Help plan for our collective future; take the Waterloo Region Survey today. The time you spend on the survey — around 30 minutes on average — will be well worth it if you see changes were you need it most. www.CIW.ca/WaterlooRegionSurvey.com
