Let’s Talk: Whiteness and health equity (2020)

National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health (NCCDH) has published this installation of the Let’s Talk series introduces the concept of Whiteness to public health audiences. In this reading, authors provide examples of how we can take a critical Whiteness approach to work to reduce racialized health inequities at the individual, institutional and systemic levels.

Let’s Talk: Ethical foundations of health equity (2020)

This document by NCCDH explores justice as the ethical basis of health equity. It expands upon this idea by exploring how public health practitioners can use this knowledge to guide work to address health equity.

Let’s Talk: Racism and health equity (2018)

This reading by the NCCDH provides an excellet foundation to above resources by describing the concepts of race, racism and racialization and emphasizing settler colonialism and structural racism as the root causes of health and social inequities experienced by Indigenous and racialized peoples in Canada.

Public Health Ontario – Health Equity

Public Health Ontario provides resources and tools for assessing and improving health equity. Visit their website for free webinars, readings, and assessment tools.

Beyond Inclusion: Equity in Public Engagement

Simon Fraser University’s Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue developed the Beyond Inclusion guide through a participatory research and consultation process from 2019-2020 involving community members, engagement practitioners, and representatives from governments and civil society.

Anti-Racism Resources – UWaterloo

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Virtual Roundtable Series – Wilfrid Laurier University
